Working with the medicine of sound and song, Astra Laguna creates a hybrid sound journey by weaving their own composed songs between different mystical curated ambient sonic landscapes. 

With an ever increasing collection of esoteric chimes, bells, bowls, flutes, rattles, shakers, stringed instruments, voices and whatever else is on hand, even blending in synthesis and samples they create sonic tapestry that holds and protects the sacred songs they also share, to take you on a journey through imagined worlds and spaces.

The Artist

Astra Laguna are a music duo made up of artists Caroline Mackintosh and Bummela who live and breathe sound. Ever since they met 8 years ago they have been weaving sonic magic and composing songs together. Originally from South Africa, they are world travellers who have a passion for studying different spiritual and musical traditions and are avid collectors of instruments and songs that inspire them. 

Bummela is a composer, sound designer, shamanic practitioner and advanced yoga teacher, he studies diverse spiritual traditions, merging his exploration of consciousness with his passion for music, which he sees as an expression of the heart's true knowing

Caroline is a visual artist, musician, and shamanic practitioner. She draws inspiration from nature, creative processing, human connection and the mystery of life itself. Her deep love for the natural world resonates through her music, reflecting her sense of wonder and affinity for nature.

Their music is an extension of their love for one another.
