THE ARTIST
Mitia Klein is a sound therapist, workshop facilitator, retreats curator and instruments distributor. Born and brought up in the International community of Auroville in South India to French parents, he grew up in a diverse multi-cultural social playground. At 17, he taveled across India for 6 months as a free-lance photographer and blog writer and then came back to Auroville and worked in education, photography and community building processes. Then he studied Ancient Thai Massage at the Healing Hands Center with the Healer Rahul Bharti and learnt how to work with Tibetan bowls. He is the co-founder of « Espace Anahata », a successful sound healing, yoga and holistic practices studio in Paris and Loural Eco Village in Portugal, an eco-village and holistic retreat center focusing on music, alternative therapies and art.
Marc Laurin's life has been immersed in rhythm and melody, starting with percussion and piano and evolving into an enduring passion for music production. This passion eventually led him on a journey to explore sound’s calming power, taking him far beyond the studio and deep into the heart of South India. In Auroville, Marc spent over a year immersed in yogic practices and learned from a vibrant international community. There, he began leading transformative group sound baths and offering individual sessions, crafting experiences where powerful electronic tones melt into organic sounds from acoustic instruments. Marc further refined his expertise in psychoacoustics and immersive, multichannel audio during a Master’s in Audio Communication and Technology at TU Berlin. He also conducted soundscape projects exploring and recording the soundscapes of urban life and the Amazon in Venezuela.
Together, they are developing Spanda Lab in Paris and Berlin (electro acoustic spatial sound experience concept).
